Teacher Awards and Recognition Ceremony

Outstanding Teacher Awards and Recognition Ceremony

The Houston Area Alliance of Black School Educators was pleased to hold our Outstanding Teacher Awards and Recognition Ceremony (TARC) on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at the George R. Brown Convention Center, 1001 Avenida De Las Americas, Houston, TX, 77010.

The purpose of our Outstanding Teacher Awards and Recognition Ceremony is to say thank you to teachers for the outstanding job they do in working with children, and to provide for the community an opportunity to participate in this recognition. Teacher nominees from each participating school are recognized and honored simply by completing Part I of the application (Data Form and Photo). Teacher nominees who compete for the HAABSE Teacher of the Year honor, however, must be a HAABSE member and complete all parts of the application.

A $1,000 College Scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior in pursuit of a degree in education. Winner(s) will be announced at the HAABSE Teacher Awards and Recognition Ceremony on Wednesday, January 18, 2017.

The HAABSE Retired Educators’ Committee will review applications, determine and interview finalists, and then select the Teacher of the Year recipients and runner-ups who win monetary awards ranging from $100.00 to $1,000.

Congratulations to the 2016 winners!
